Washiwall

Privacy policy

Washiwall: DIY Wallpaper Maker, by NK Tools. Effective 4 November 2026.

Washiwall lets you make wallpapers from your own photos, stickers, washi tape and text, and set them as your home or lock screen. This policy explains what stays on your phone and what is shared.

Your photos stay on your phone

You choose photos with Android's photo picker, so Washiwall only receives the photos you pick, never the rest of your gallery. Each picked photo is resized and a copy is kept in the app's private storage so the wall keeps working if the original is deleted. Your walls (their layout, text and the copied photos), small previews of them and the finished pictures are also kept in the app's private storage. None of this is uploaded or shared by Washiwall. It is removed when you delete a wall, or when you uninstall the app or clear its data.

When you tap Save PNG, the finished picture is saved to your phone's Pictures/Washiwall folder, where other apps you allow (like your gallery) can see it. When you tap Share, the picture goes only to the app you pick. When you tap Set as wallpaper, the picture is handed to Android's wallpaper service on your phone.

What else is kept on your phone

Your choices (sound on or off, home/lock/both), which extra packs you unlocked, and a few counters (how many walls you finished, whether we have asked for a review, whether ads may start) are kept in the app's private storage.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

Washiwall is free and shows ads using Google AdMob (the Google Mobile Ads SDK). The ads SDK only starts after you finish your first wall or ask to unlock a pack. To show, measure and limit ads and to prevent fraud, Google may collect and process:

The ads SDK never receives your photos or walls. This data is collected by Google, not by NK Tools, and is handled under Google's Privacy Policy. See how Google uses information from apps that use its services. Where the law requires it (for example in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland), Washiwall asks for your consent through Google's consent message, and you can change your choice at any time from Settings › Ad privacy choices in the app. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's settings.
